Abstract: |
This collection contains two copies of each piece of published material the museum creates, such as bulletins, informational
pamphlets, announcements, exhibition catalogs, etc. It also includes annual reports of the Board of Trustees; scrapbooks;
annual publications; audio-visual material including films, video tapes, and audio files; posters; floor plans and visitor
maps; and miscellaneous materials.

Scope and Content
Series 1 contains the Annual Reports of the Board of Trustees to the Shareholders, which constitute the basic published source
for important activities, internal organization, and financial status of the Museum Association. Series 2 contains the Museum
Bulletins, which include many articles on objects in the museum collection, special events, classes, lectures, exhibitions,
latest accessions, and other museum-related information. Series 3 contains the News Notes, an abbreviated form of the Museum
Bulletins. Series 4 contains the catalogs for the Annual Exhibitons of American Art held at the museum from 1894 to 1941.
These provide the title, owner and price of the included objects, as well as the artists' names and addresses, and some photographs.
Series 5 contains the Special Exhibition catalogs, which cover all exhibitions of material loaned to the museum. Series 6
contains the Catalogs of the Collection from 1886 to 1898. Series 7 contains miscellaneous volumes which provide background
information on the early museum collections. Series 8 contains the Annual Publications, which include annual reports, bulletins,
news notes, reviews of collections, exhibition catalogs, schedules for lectures, classes and activities, posters, invitations,
and other published materials. This series contains two copies of each piece of published material the museum creates, such
as bulletins, informational pamphlets, announcements, exhibition catalogs, etc. Series 9 contains the Museum Scrapbooks, which
include newspaper and magazine articles, as well as information on community art activities, visiting artists and celebrities,
prominent Cincinnati artists, and Art Academy students. Series 10 contains audio-visual materials, including films, video
tapes, audio tapes, phonograph records, and posters. Series 11 contains postcards arranged by subject matter and date. Series
12 contains museum floor plans and visitor maps, as well as maps of Eden Park. Series 13 contains miscellaneous promotional
items, including pins, buttons, magnets, and other small items.

The collection is arranged in 13 series according to material and content. The items in the collection are housed in volumes,
boxes, and folders.
