Abstract:
Alexander Nelson was a Methodist minister who taught at Norwalk Seminary, Worthington Female Seminary, and Baldwin Institute, in Ohio, between 1838 and 1850. He settled in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1837, but soon moved to Ohio. The collection consists of papers relating to Nelson's teaching assignments; copies of sermons and lectures on subjects such as Benedict Arnold, Western antiquities, Methodism, and the Sabbath; an address on the Bible delivered before the American Bible Society; and an autobiographical sketch.
