The Ohio-Indiana American Studies Association is the regional chapter of the American Studies Association whose purpose was to promote the multi-disciplinary study of American civilization, with particular reference to the Ohio-Indiana region. The collection consists of constitutions, minutes, programs, correspondence, newsletters, financial statements and mailing/membership lists. Included are constitutions, executive committee minutes, and annual programs of the American Studies Association and newsletters of regional chapters. |

The Ohio-Indiana American Studies Association is a regional chapter of the American Studies Association which obtained its national charter in 1951. The Ohio-Indiana chapter draws its membership from the residents of Ohio and Indiana who are also members of the ASA. The purpose of this chapter is to promote the multi-disciplinary study of American civilization with particular reference to the Ohio-Indiana region.
The Ohio-Indiana American Studies Association Records, 1946-1977 and undated, consists of constitutions, minutes, programs, correspondence, newsletters, financial statements, and mailing/membership rosters.
This collection pertains primarily to the Ohio-Indiana chapter of the ASA. Most of the material documents the growth of this chapter and its efforts to coordinate annual meetings and other scholarly conferences.
