The Anshe Chesed Congregation Sisterhood is the women's auxiliary of Fairmount Temple (Anshe Chesed Congregation), know as Euclid Avenue Temple, between 1912 and 1957. The group is involved in various social, religious, philanthropic, educational and entertainment activities in Cleveland, Ohio. The collection consists of unpublished histories, minute books, annual committee reports, program materials, and scrapbooks. The collection is useful in the study of the role of women in Reform Judaism. |

The Anshe Chesed Congregation Sisterhood (f. l908), is a women's auxiliary of Fairmount Temple (known as Euclid Avenue Temple between 1912 and 1957) devoted to supporting religious, social, philanthropic, educational, and entertainment activities In Cleveland, Ohio. Fundraising activities such as antique bazaars, sewing and knitting projects, and cookbook sales have been used to support building construction and major purchases by the congregation as well as projects concerned with the welfare of Jews locally and world-wide. Other programs have coordinated the efforts of members with non-sectarian groups such as the Red Cross. Classes sponsored by the Sisterhood have concerned subjects such as child psychology, Jewish literature, Hebrew, and Bible Studies. Activities involving children have included Girl Scouts, Parent-Teachers Association and Mother-Daughter and Father-Son events.
