 Sarah Lanman Smyth (b. 1842) was the daughter of a Baptist minister who resided in Milford and New Haven, Connecticut. The collection consists of a diary kept for Sarah Smyth by her parents during the first 15 years of her life. The diary includes accounts of travels in New York, Ohio, and Michigan.
