Marcus Isaacs (1852-1904) was a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-born traveling salesman who came to Cleveland, Ohio ca. 1885. He married Minnie Leon, the daughter of Louis Leon of Cleveland. They had three sons, Harry, William and Bert. Marcus Isaacs died in 1904. Minnie Isaacs died in 1911. The collection consists of a scrapbook of the 1886 wedding of Marcus Isaacs and Minnie Leon, containing a newspaper clipping, congratulatory telegrams, and telegrams marking the birth of their first son. |

Marcus Isaacs was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1852, and came to Cleveland, Ohio, as a traveling salesman ca. 1885. In 1886 he married Minnie Leon, daughter of Louis Leon, of Cleveland. Isaacs continued to work as a traveling salesman for many years, specializing in umbrellas. The Isaac family resided at a number of locations in the Woodland Avenue neighborhood. They had three sons, Harry, William, and Bert. Marcus Isaacs died on March 19, 1904. Minnie Isaacs died on September 12, 1911.
