Abstract:
William Herbert Withingon (1835-1903) was a Captain in the 17th Regiment, Michigan Volunteer Infantry, during the American Civil War. He later co-founded the Withington and Cooley Company (later American Fork and Hoe, Inc.). The collection consists of correspondence, genealogical material, greeting cards, legal documents, clippings, and miscellaneous documents. The correspondence discusses Civil War battles, Capt. Withington's term as a prisoner of war, and other topics.
