Finding aid for the Chess Correspondence Collection

Scope and Content

The collection consists of correspondence relating to chess games, chess tournaments, and chess book collecting. The material spans from the late 1800s to the late 1970s and contains letters written by chess masters, chess editors, and chess bibliophiles.

Chess Corrspondence Boxes

This series of eight boxes contain folders in alphabetical order of the last name of the person who wrote each letter. Box one contains letters A-B, box two contains letters C-F, box three contains the letter G, box four contains the letters H-K, box five contains letters L-M,box six contains letters N-R, box seven contains letters S-T, and box eight contains letters U-Z.
