Biography of Eunice Mitchell Bennett

Eunice A. Mitchell Bennett went to China in 1922 where she attended language school for two years. During this time she stayed in the C. W. Shoop family's home where she became acquainted with Kathryn Lucille Shoop. Eunice went on to teach at Miller Seminary in Siulaam (Siu Lam), a girls' boarding and day school run by the Church of the United Brethren in Christ. She served two terms as a missionary in South China before requesting permanent furlough in 1933 in response to family health needs. Eunice Mitchell Bennett died in 1984 after leaving her China papers to her friend Kathryn Lucille Shoop Allen, who forwarded them to the Center for the Evangelical United Brethren Heritage in 1986.
