Biography of Willard A. Bishop

Willard A. Bishop was a commercial photographer in Sandusky for over 60 years. Born circa 1856, he moved to Sandusky in 1880 from Indianapolis. He opened a photography studio on Washington Row shortly after he arrived in Sandusky, and maintained this business until shortly before his death on January 31, 1942. In 1908, Mr. Bishop donated to the library three frames containing 150 portraits he had taken of professional and business men from Sandusky.

Scope and Content

The collection contains 149 portraits of prominent men of Sandusky, taken by Willard A. Bishop. The photographs were taken circa 1890-1908, though there are no specific dates on any of the portraits. Negatives exist for all the photographs.
