History of Bruce Powell

Bruce Powell was demolishing a house and barn on Strouds Run Road/County Road 20 in Athens County when he found this collection of photographs and glass negatives. This was around 1975. Powell thinks the last name of the owners of the house was Eames.

The Bruce Powell collection of glass negatives and photographs date from the late 1800s to early 1900s and are of people and places in and around Athens, Ohio. Identified subjects include Mildred Wade, the Shaw family, and Edwin McClead. Places include the Mens Union and Campus Green at Ohio University, and Beckley & Son Clothing Store.
