Geoffrey Bruun (1898-1988) was a historian and a biographer who taught at NYU from 1927 to 1941. He was also a visiting professor at several American universities. He authored many books, best known for textbooks, on European history.
Geoffrey Bruun accepts an invitation for he and his wife to tea with Miss Hyslop. He asked of her visit to France, and is particularly interested because he would like to go for a summer to "loaf." He is embarrassed of her mention of the amount of books he has sold, and offers to bring his latest book Europe and the French Imperium to her when they visit.
