Biography of Jacob Abbott

Jacob Abbott (1803-1879) was an American writer of juvenile literature, series and individual books for boys and girls, throughout the 19th century. Congressional clergyman, educator.

Scope and Content

Single sheet of paper found inserted in a copy of his book, A Summer in Scotland. Letter written from Farmington to an unidentified "Dear Sir." Acknowledged addressee's account of "the work you are engaged in" and offers assistance in any way he can.
