History of Nassau County Psychological Association

Nassau County Psychological Association (NCPA) has been in continuous service since 1952, providing services to psychologists, school psychologists, and private individuals in Long Island. Resources for psychologists and school psychologists include a professional listserv, employment listings, and programming, including a speaker's bureau and continuing professional education, as maintained by their nonprofit arm: Nassau Psychological Services Institute (NPSI). Individuals may also find psychologists and group therapists through NCPA.

Scope and Content

The Nassau County Psychological Association archival records include administrative files, files of the Legal/Legislative Committee, and files of Nassau Psychological Services Institute. The records document the activities of NCPA, especially legal issues relating to mental health services in Long Island and the state of New York.
