Biography of Richard H. Denison
Richard H. Denison was a navigator in the 553rd Bombardment Squadron of the 386th Bombardment Group of the Ninth Air Force
during World War II, reaching the rank of 1st Lieutenant.
Scope and Content
The Richard H. Denison Collection focuses on Denison's military papers, including flight logs and personnel orders. It also
includes a multitude of maps with noted flight paths, a model of the B-26 Marauder, "Rat Poison," and a number of photographs
taken while overseas during World War II depicting B-26 Marauders and war-torn landscapes. Copies of published materials,
Aircraft of the Fighting Powers, Volumes 1 & 4, were physically separated from the collection, cataloged in The University
of Akron Libraries Catalog, and shelved with the Special Collections books in Archival Services by Library of Congress call
number.
