C. Forman "Dee" Dirickson (1919-2007) was 1st Lieutenant and pilot in the 451st Squadron of the 322nd Bomb Group, in the 9th Air Force from 1943-1944. He participated in 75 missions as part of the European Theater of Operations. After his time in the Air Force, Dirickson continued his flying career as a corporate pilot.
This collection consists of papers relating to Dirickson's time as an Air Force pilot, including training, and covers the years 1941 to 1946. It includes Dirickson's flight log, records from pilot training and individual flight records. The collection also includes general and special orders from the Air Force. The papers are accompanied by 1 photograph album of pictures, a flash drive of images and information, 13 oversized maps, and a pilot's navigation case.
