Monsignor Ansbury, eighth child in his family, was born October 24, 1888, in Dayton, Ohio. He graduated from St. Mary's Institute (now University of Dayton) in 1908 and studied for the priesthood at Mt. St. Mary's Seminary. He was ordained on February 8, 1913. Fr. Ansbury began his priestly ministry as an assistant at St. Mary's Parish in Hyde Park. In 1921 he was assigned to establish the new parish of St. Margaret of Cortona and in 1935 he was appointed pastor of Corpus Christi parish in Dayton. Msgr. Ansbury has received many honors and distinctions throughout his ministry and undertook many extensive projects at his parishes.
This collection contains a scrapbook/photograph album on the 50th Anniversary Ordination of Msgr. Ansbury. In the back of the album there are newspaper clippings and two pamphlets, all containing notes on the ministry throughout his 50 years.
