History of Kennedy Heights Community Council
The Kennedy Heights Community Council (KHCC) was founded in 1963. It is an inter-racial organization dedicated to maintaining
the stable integration of Kennedy Heights (one of the most integrated neighborhoods of the City of Cincinnati) and the continuing
improvement of the community. KHCC's activities include representing Kennedy Heights at City Council meetings, encouraging
families to move to Kennedy Heights, the sponsoring of neighborhood-wide community-building activities, working to improve
and maintain local schools, and acting against unethical real estate practices. For more information, see "History", in Box
1, Folder 13 of this collection.
Scope and Content
This collection contains documents related to the activities of the Kennedy Heights Community Council and its affiliated organizations
during the second half of the 20th century and the first decade of the 21st century including correspondence, reports, community
plans, meeting minutes, and lists of committee members. There are also folders containing general information on the neighborhood
of Kennedy Heights, as well as relevant correspondence, both personal and professional.
Statement of Arrangement
The collection is arranged into 22 series in alphabetical order by subject matter.
Series 1: Address Lists-Contains lists of property owners by the properties' numbers, as well as directories.
Series 2: Census Data-contains statistical reports constructed using information gained from the federal census.
Series 3: City of Cincinnati-Official city documents that concern or are otherwise related to Kennedy Heights.
Series 4: General Neighborhood Documents-miscellaneous Kennedy Heights-related documents that did not fit any of the other
categories.
Series 5: Kennedy Heights Arts Center-Documents related to the Kennedy Heights Arts Center.
Series 6: Kennedy Heights Community Council Anniversary Celebrations-Information and advertisements for KHCC's anniversary
celebrations.
Series 7: Kennedy Heights Community Council Correspondence-contains correspondence addressed to and from both the KHCC as
a whole and individual members.
