This series consists of records created by the Office of the President, which is the chief academic and administrative office of the university; materials include analog audio tape, budgets, correspondence, evaluations, minutes, newsletters, newspaper clippings, policies, programs, publications, and reports; concerning the activities of Case Western Reserve University and its governing boards, faculty and academic affairs, students and student services, business and legal affairs, alumni relations and fundraising, academic divisions and schools, and associations and organizations during the tenure of President Toepfer; specifically university-wide events such as commencement and the sesquicentennial, faculty information such as emeriti, and professorial appointments, and student activities such as student government, fraternities and sororities, athletics, and student educational services; also academic divisions and schools such as the Case Institute of Technology, Health Sciences, Humanities and Arts, Law, Library Science, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Western Reserve College, as well as associations and organizations such as the Association of American Colleges, the Association of American Universities, and the Cleveland Commission on Higher Education. |

Materials do not circulate. Materials are available by appointment only. Appointments must be made at least 72 hours in advance. Folders containing non-directory personally identifiable information about students, employee evaluations, grievance/disciplinary proceedings, salary/income/financial status, mental/physical health, allegations of misconduct that are unresolved or to which the accused has not responded, or anonymous donors, are restricted.
