History of Case Western Reserve University Association of Students in the Matthew A. Baxter School of Information and Library Science

Functions of the Association were to provide a formal channel for expression of student opinion; to enable student participation in the discussions and deliberations which affected their professional education; through its elected officers, to represent the students in their relationship to the faculty and administration of the school, as well as the university as a whole; to encourage the practical and effective organization of student activities and social affairs, including the planning of social events, the development of policies governing the student lounge or study areas, bulletin boards, newsletters, or other communication media.

The Association was established in 1970 and terminated in 1984.

Scope and Content

This series consists of announcements, by-laws, correspondence, memoranda, minutes, rosters concerning student social and educational events, association governance, termination of the school, establishment of and fundraising for scholarships.
