Biography of Aldo Luisada

Dr. Aldo Luisada was born in 1901 in Florence, Italy. He moved to the United States in 1939, where he spent most of his time teaching and lecturing at the Chicago Medical School. He was a cardiologist who spent much of his time researching phonocardiography (study of the heart and the sounds and rhythms it makes). He was an initiator of the Laennec Society for Cardiovascular Sound and served as its first president.

The Aldo Luisada, MD Papers (approximately 3 ½ linear feet) is a collection of reprints on the topic of phonocardiography.

This collection is primarily arranged chronically.

The collection is open to the public and is available for viewing in the Medical Heritage Center. Materials do not circulate and must be used in the supervised reading room.
