by C.M. Ross. She is wearing a high-necked bodice with brooch at her neck and a flower on the middle of the bodice. On 2004.1.20.9e
there is an inscription, lower front: "With love to dear Mimi / from Elizabeth - Rome 1891"; signed on reverse "Elizabeth
Nourse". "Mimi" is "Mimi" [Schmidt], a relative of the Walter S. Schmidt family who bequeathed 34 paintings to the College-Conservatory
of Music of the University of Cincinnati in 1959. The mat of this image is very damaged., before 1896
