Abstract: |
The bulk of this collection consists of the papers of Mary Louise McLaughlin, ceramic artist, wood carver, painter, etcher, metalworker, art theorist, and author, and of her brother, architect James W. McLaughlin. For Mary Louise McLaughlin, the papers include correspondence, inventories of her work, some artwork, books, death and estate records, and several partial and complete manuscripts. James McLaughlin’s papers include general correspondence, architecture books, and materials relating to the construction of the Cincinnati Art Museum. The remainder of the collection includes early records of the McLaughlin family, later papers relating to their descendants, as well as an extensive collection of family photographs. |
