Scope and Content: Andrew B. Moore, governor of Alabama, communication drawn up to protect rights of Alabama, a slave-holding state, precipitated by the election of President Lincoln. Appointment of Robert H. Smith and I. W. Garrott to consult with Governor John W. Ellis and members of the Legislature of North Carolina, as to what is best to be done to protect their rights, and report the result of such consultation in time to communicate the same to the Convention of the State of Alabama to be held on Monday the 7th day of January next., dated December 14, 1860
