The Law Firm of Collins & Scanlon Photograph Collection primarily depicts the guests, and guests of honor at the annual St. Patrick's Day party in Cleveland, Ohio. The collection also includes invitation cards to the St. Patrick's Day parties. The photographs were taken by both John C. Sullivan and guests. History of the Law Firm of Collins & Scanlon

The Law Firm of Collins and Scanlon (f. 1979) is based in Cleveland, Ohio. This firm has been granted the highest ratings available for legal expertise, adherence to the highest professional standards of ethics, reliability and ethics. The two founding partners are Tim L. Collins and Thomas J. Scanlon and they, along with the rest of the staff engage in general practice. Practice focus includes business acquisitions, business financings, government contracts, real estate development and mortgage lending, federal income taxation, commercial litigation, securities law, estate planning, trusts, wills, probate administration and litigation, federal estate and gift taxes, creditor rights, employment law, trial and appellate litigation, computer law, criminal investigations and litigation, bankruptcy and reorganization, general business and corporate matters. The two founding partners claim an Irish ethnicity. Tim's grandfather's family was Scots-Irish and his grandmother's family, Hennessy, appear to have origins in the province of Munster, Ireland. Scanlon's heritage lies with County Mayo.

Never forgetting their Irish roots, both founding partners contribute in a number of ways to Cleveland's Irish Community. Tom Scanlon continues to give generously to the Irish American community in north east Ohio. Due to his numerous contributions to this group, he was honored with the Walks of Life Award Ceremony. In more recent years, he became a founding member of the charitable Mayo Society of Greater Cleveland.

To date, this law firm has hosted 27 annual St. Patrick's Day Parade Parties, at a variety of locations in Cleveland, Ohio. A guest/s of honor is selected and flown in from Ireland to attend a number of events in Cleveland, but primarily is invited to the St. Patrick's Day Party. The guest list typically includes members of the Justice community and other members of the Irish community of Greater Cleveland. Guests of honor include David Pierce, Director of Ulster Bank Commercial Services, Corporate Banking and Financial Markets, Northern Ireland; Michael O'Kennedy, senior barrister whose career includes Minister for Foreign Affairs, Minister for Finance, Minister for Agriculture, Minister for Labour, Commissioner of the European Community and Co-Chairman of the British-Irish Inter-Parliamentary Body; Ben Briscoe, former Mayor of Dublin, Ireland, and former member of Parliament; Hugh J. O'Flaherty, retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Ireland; Gina Quinn, Dublin Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Justice Michael Moriarty, The Circuit Court, Dublin, Ireland.
