Biography of Gerald E. Brookins
The Gerald E. Brookins Collection, contains thousands of images of streetcars, interurbans, railroads and everyday Cleveland
area photographs, many from well-known transit authority Harry Christiansen.
Gerald E. Brookins was the owner and creator of Trolleyville and the Brookins Collection contains historical material from
Trolleyville as well as streetcar models crafted by Morris Stone.
Scope and Content
This collection contains materials related to the history of trollies and trolley companies including company records, car
and station information, and scrapbooks created by Brookins and Christiansen.
Materials included are personnel files, company newsletters and bulletins, car and station blueprints and drawings, news clippings
written by Christiansen, personal letters and records of both Brookins and Chistiansen, as well as ticket stubs and track
line maps. Additional materials include photographs of street cars, both original and reprints, objects including depot
signs, conductors' tools, post cards.
