History of International Typographical Union, Local 482

The International Typographical Union (ITU), Local 482 based in Athens, Ohio, was founded in 1912. In 1986, the national ITU merged with the Communication Workers of America in order to retain benefits as membership figures continued to decline. As a result of this merger, Local 482 dissolved.
