Bath Volunteers for Service was founded in 1958 by the residents of Bath Township, Ohio. The charitable organization works
to serve the community through fundraising and financial donation to the local school system, local businesses, and local
recreation centers.

History of Bath Volunteers for Service
Bath Volunteers for Service was founded before or around 1958 by members of Bath Township, a suburb located northwest of Akron,
Ohio. As a charitable organization, their goals are reflected in their personal statement. "The purpose shall be to establish
and carry out a system of volunteer service which shall be of greatest benefit to the community, and to raise funds for use
beyond that provided for by public moneys in bettering community living for adults and children." Primarily consisting of
women, the group has had a long history fundraising and donating money to the local school system, local businesses, and local
recreation centers. It has worked closely with the community through the establishment of their historic town hall and community
center.
Scope and Content
Bath Volunteers for Service records go back as far as 1958, but it can be expected the organization existed informally before
that date. The collection consists of records highlighting meeting minutes, financial information, scrapbooks, reports, newsletters,
membership, and multimedia. Researchers interested in the development of Bath Township and the roll of volunteer organizations
