The Springer Institute, the first Catholic School for the Deaf in Ohio, was opened on Eight and Plum Streets in the fall of 1887. It opened as a free school in the cathedral parish and later moved to the rectory. Within a year there were thirteen pupils on the roll. The school operated for only three years.
This collection consists of a list of pupils and accounting of the Springer fund.
