History of Adult Counseling Center

The Adult Counseling Center was a ministry of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati located at 709 Neeb Road in Cincinnati, Ohio. It opened in the fall of 1991 and offered assistance to men and women experiencing difficulties with emotional awareness, in self-examination, with troubled relationships, and those individuals with developmental and/or mental handicaps. Services offered were Counseling, Massage, and Spiritual Direction. Services ended in 1995. The desired outcome of the Center was to help individuals set measurable goals toward a change in attitudes, behavior and/or feelings. The service was offered by professional therapists educated in human behavior. The personnel of this ministry were: Betty Finn, S.C. Marty Gallagher, S.C. Rose Izzo, S.C. Shirley Doll, O.S.F.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of one file folder containing a brochure and a pamphlet generated from the ministry.

Restrictions on Access and Use

Permission to use the collection can be obtained from the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati Congregational Archivist. External researchers need to complete a request form stating the purpose of their research and a list of collections to be consulted upon their visit, which must be approved by the Archivist prior to an on-site visit. If a researcher is unable to visit the Archives in person, the Archivist will conduct a minimum amount of research and provide scanned copies of some materials if requested.
