Abstract: |
The Akron and Summit County Federation of Women's Clubs was organized in 1893. It united with the Ohio State Federation of Women's Clubs in 1917. Like other women's organizations, the group raised money for charity, invited guest speakers to give lectures, awarded scholarships, and worked on various community-related projects. However, along with the state and national organizations, the Akron and Summit County club also lobbied for political reform. The records include materials relating to the clubs' activities in the Akron community from its founding in 1893 to 1985. |
