Bath Volunteers for Service was founded before or around 1958 by members of Bath Township, a suburb located northwest of Akron, Ohio. As a charitable organization, their goals are reflected in their personal statement. "The purpose shall be to establish and carry out a system of volunteer service which shall be of greatest benefit to the community, and to raise funds for use beyond that provided for by public moneys in bettering community living for adults and children." Primarily consisting of women, the group has had a long history fundraising and donating money to the local school system, local businesses, and local recreation centers. It has worked closely with the community through the establishment of their historic town hall and community center.
