Biography of Phillip O. Bridenbaugh

Dr. Bridenbaugh received his MD from University of Nebraska in 1960. He served his internship and residency in Seattle, Washington at King County Hospital and Virginia Mason Hospital respectively. From 1964 through 1965, he also served as an NIH Research Trainee in anesthesia at Stanford University and at St. Thomas' Hospital London. Before coming to Cincinnati in 1977, he held many positions in in Seattle in the departments of anesthesiology at Children's Orthopedic, the Mason Clinic and Virginia Mason Hospital, including the Director of the Department of Anesthesiology at the Mason Clinic.

He was persuaded to join the Department of Anesthesiology at the UC's College of Medicine in 1977, serving as the Professor and Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology from 1977 through 2003. He is now Professor Emeritus of the department.
